In Washington, the U.S. Government creates a platform focused on providing tax support to those who have children, receiving a bonus of up to 300 dollars per child as part of the economic rescue plan created in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.

1. Electronic platform

According to the aforementioned, the GetCTC.org website was created by Code for America with the help of the White House and the U.S. Treasury Department to provide an easy service via the Internet, including cell phones for those who are not required to pay taxes due to receiving insufficient income.

2. Inclusive Web

According to “The Associated Press”, previous research has shown that the simpler the process, the more users will proceed to use it. Thus, a parent and child may complete the entire process between 20 to 25 steps to access the platform, noting the respective form is available in both English and Spanish.

3. Extension of Credit

The family financial aid package will include an expansion of the “credit for families” with children to include those exempted to pay taxes due to insufficient income. Parents of a child under age six can receive up to $3,600 per year in installments of $300 per month. For each child between 6 and 17, the family is entitled to $3,000 per year, receiving $250 per month.

4. Extension of Credit

Finally, it is important to note that the family credit will expire one year after its approval. However, President Joe Biden has proposed extending it until 2025 and even making it permanent, as long as it works effectively based on census figures measuring food insecurity among families with children.
